Seuss Week!

Hooray for Seuss Week!

In order to get into the Seuss spirit this week we will be having some special days!

Wednesday - Green Grinch Day (wear green!)

Thursday– Twisted Thursday (wear mixed up clothing—shirt on

                                        backwards, inside out, etc…--be creative!)

Friday - Silly Sock Day (wear silly socks, socks with designs or two different colored socks)

We had a lovely Valentine's Day in Kindergarten!  Everyone enjoyed the Share and passing out their Valentines.

Reading Workshop - Good Readers...

• Use patterns and pictures to figure out tricky words
• Find and point to objects in the picture to make smart guesses about tricky words
• Think...what word would make sense here?
• Read fact books about imporant people - Abe Lincoln and George Washington
• Read with their 2nd grade buddy!

Writing Workshop - Good Writers...

• Reread their How-To to see if they can add to their steps
• Add cautions, tips, and warnings to help their reader
• Share their How-To and get help from their writing buddy

Social Studies/Science - We discussed and learned about holidays - Valentine's Day and President's Day!

Sight Words - Individual sight word lists are sent home weekly on purple paper.
