We had a busy week in Kindergarten!  The following programs visited our school this week.
  • Ted Scheu the Poetry Guy
  • Animal Embassy
  • Music for Youth
During Reading Workshop...
  • Readers ask questions before they read - who, what, when, where, why?
  • Readers look for answers to their questions.
  • Study non-fiction text features - Table of Contents, diagrams, index, glossary, etc.
During Writing Workshop...
  • Write All About something they know very well - like themselves!
  • Create chapter titles.
  • Write the words first and then add pictures.
Math Workshop...
Apple Boxes - Combinations of 10.  Students work independently and with a buddy to solve the following problem - How many combinations of red and green apples could a grocer make in a box of 5 apples?  In a box of 10 apples?

Holiday Math - St. Patrick's Day patterns.

Social Studies/Science:  Map Skills
