Getting Ready for Thanksgiving!

Updates/Reminders
  • Thanksgiving celebration on Wednesday
  • Early dismissal on Wednesday
  • Thank you to all of the November volunteers!!
  • Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Good Readers - Touch each word as they say it.  They notice sight words and can read them in a snap!  Good readers also read around the room and look at pictures to help figure out words.  They also read about current events - Thanksgiving
We also worked on retelling stories in order - beginning, middle, and end.

Good Writers - look closely at the world and write about what they learn; just like scientists!  We went on a nature walk and looked for leaves.  We examined the leaves under a magnifying glass, sketched them, labeled our illustration and wrote a story about our experience.  Today we looked at and wrote about objects in the classroom.

Math - We are continuing our exploration of numbers 0-9. We are learning how to correctly form the numbers, how to spell the number words and the picture representation of each digit

Social Studies - We have been learning about the first Thanksgiving and comparing it to current traditions.  We have also been talking about what we should be thankful for...
