This week in Kindergarten...

We had our lovely Halloween Share and Parade!  Thanks to Mrs. Olvany and Mrs. Williams for planning a festive Halloween craft.  Thanks to Mrs. Luecke, Mrs. Hageney, and Mrs. Ferretti for contributing to our Halloween snack.

We learned that...

Good Readers - Point to each word in their book, and use words that they know to help them read.  Students continue to work on making connections and retelling stories.

Good Writers - Use tools to help them stretch out words in their stories.  Students are using the Word Wall, their Sight Word ring, ABC chart, and imaginary rubber band to stretch out words.

Math - We began our unit on 3-D shapes!  By the end of the week, students were able to recognize and identify cubes, cones, rectangular prisms, spheres, cylinders and prisms.  We sorted 3-D shapes on the smartboard and played some fun games.  Many students brought in items from home that resembled 3-D shapes.  (A soda can, dice, party hat).

Centers - Everyone began a new sort, worked on their sight words, completed some Halloween writing, and played games.
