During Reader's Workshop we learned that...
- Readers think about the whole book and what makes sense when they are reading.
- Readers think about the topic of the books and make predictions.
- When a reader gets to a word he/she doesn't know, he/she asks what makes sense? Check the pictures and the letter sounds.
During Writer's Workshop we learned that...
- Writers write All About a topic that they are VERY familiar with.
- Writers list all that they know about the topic.
- Writers create chapters for their book.
- Writers label their pictures to give more information.
Math: We finished up our unit on 2-D and 3-D shapes and practiced combining numbers up to 10.
